Up-Date on Mason

Well Mason and I spent a very long day at the hospital today. He started with the Plastic Surgeon at 11:00 and we finally finished seeing doctors at 4:00. At least they were all in the same place. He saw the head of Trauma, a Trauma surgeon and also the head of Neuro Surgery. They were very disgusted that the hospital up here did not transfer him down to Lehigh Valley. They said he most definitely should have been admitted and watched for at least 48 hours. They said we were very fortunate nothing happened, as the first 24 hours are iffy with this type of injury. They said a lot of times kids seem fine at first and then can develop problems. Thank God that wasn't the case with him. He does have another fracture on the side of his face we didn't know about, plus the one above the eye. His eye actually looks 100x better than it did. The swelling is starting to go down and he can open it a little more now. They said the breaks should heal fine on their own, we are just to watch that he doesnt' hit his head over the next 6 weeks. I started laughing when they said that. I would need a padded cell to prevent him from doing anything. While the doctor is talking to me, he was jumping off the examining table. Nothing keeps this child down. Anyway, for right now everything looks good. We have to watch his eye that nothing looks abnormal but they said everything should heal on its own.
